Following a successful season with Piteå IF in the Damallsvenskan, Sweden’s top-division league, Mandy (McGlynn) Haught is rejoining the goalkeeping ranks of NJ/NY Gotham FC. On Friday, the team announced that the Jacksonville native signed a two-year contract with a mutual option for a third year.
“I’m so stoked to be coming back to Gotham FC for my return to the NWSL,” said Haught. “I have always loved this team and the work ethic I’ve seen on and off the field. The players, coaches and staff are simply good people and I truly believe this team is capable of great things. I am so ready to put my head down, do the work, and get the results with this group and for our fans!”
Haught was selected by Sky Blue FC as the 20th overall pick in the 2020 NWSL Draft. She spent two seasons with the club and made one appearance as a second half substitution in a 1-1 draw at home against Kansas City in July 2021.
Haught had a very successful collegiate career at Virginia Tech, starting 75 games between 2016 and 2019. She was twice named All-ACC First Team goalkeeper and a second-team All American. In international competition, Haught has been a member of the United States U-18 and U-20 national teams.

Haught joins Hensley Hancuff, Abby Smith, and Michelle Betos to round out Gotham’s 2023 goalkeeping roster.
Gotham has so far had a very busy off-season which will continue at the 2023 Draft on July 12th. The announcement of Haught’s return comes on the heels of a multi-team trade announced Thursday which saw Gotham send the first overall pick in the 2023 NWSL Draft to Angel City in exchange for midfielder Yazmeen Ryan and $250,000 in allocation money. Gotham simultaneously traded $350,000 in allocation money plus a 2024 fourth-round draft pick to the Orlando Pride and received the second overall pick in the 2023 Draft.
