New York Liberty: Kia Nurse 2020 Highlights

Canadian forward/guard Kia Nurse had a decent 2020 season besides her minor injury (Ankle Sprain) during the bubble. Regardless of the New York Liberty finishing with a 2-20 record under new Head Coach Walt Hopkins; there were good moments for the Liberty and Nurse. Let’s take a look at Kia Nurse 2020 Highlights.

Kia Nurse

Let’s start with the improvements she made this year versus last year’s 2019 season. Nurse’s total rebounds went up, she averaged 2.9 this season versus last year’s 2.5 total rebounds. That is a small improvement, however, Liberty needs to get strong in the rebounding department. Her FGA went up 11.9 compared to last year’s 10.6. That solely means she is shooting more and that is what Liberty needs.

On the downside, her FG %, and 3P % went down this year. Perhaps it was due to the environment having a unique season in the bubble. Maybe mentally she wasn’t there 100 %. And is completely understandable. Kia Nurse is a valid member of this team and everyone knows what she is capable of and that is making an impact on the team. Leading her team and doing everything she can to help her team win.

Kia Nurse Highlights

As we can see on this YouTube video, Nurse is a playmaker and creates plays for her teammates. She is not afraid to attack the paint and finish with a lay-up. Even though she averaged 23% from the arc, Nurse will shoot from the arc with no problem. Whatever it takes to help the Liberty win ball games. She is quick on her feet and will beat the defender with ease. Looking at Kia Nurse 2020 highlights reassures me she is coming back next season with a vengeance.

Jordan Brand Family

As we all know Kia Nurse is part of the Jordan Brand family. She signed with the brand in 2019. Asia Durr signed with the brand as well. To have two teammates join a brand is incredible on so many levels. I am assuming they share photos of the shoes they get and have a closer connection because of it. In addition, the Jordan Brand Family has added five new WNBA players this year. Let’s take a look at the list of W players that have been blessed with this incredible opportunity.

Jordin Canada– Seattle Storm

Te’a Cooper– Los Angeles Sparks

Crystal Dangerfield– Minnesota Lynx

 Dearica Hamby– Las Vegas Aces

 Satou Sabally– Dallas Wings

Who now comprise the largest women’s roster in the Jumpman’s history. “Each of them has a bold, unique style on and off the court, with winning attributes that are rooted in the Jordan Brand’s DNA,” says Craig Williams, Jordan Brand President. “Through their play, they’ll push the boundaries of the game to new heights.”
