The Brooklyn Nets cannot catch a break or buy a win. Brooklyn’s losing streak continued after a heartbreaking 114-110 overtime loss to the Washington Wizards. Again the issue came down to closing out the game when leading. Brooklyn will have another chance to break through with a win Friday night against the Miami Heat.
The Heat and Nets have already faced off twice this season with the Heat winning both games. This is the third and final matchup of the season, and, luckily for Brooklyn, they have it at home.
Unfortunately for Brooklyn, they got the Heat all three times are their impressive 12 game winning streak. Hassan Whiteside and Dion Waiters have emerged as stars during this stretch and have shown the NBA world that the Heat are a force to be reckoned with.
Waiters has won the Heat a few games with his clutch-ness and Whiteside has been a monster down low with a lot of rebounds and a very high field goal percentage. Brooklyn will have their hands full trying to deal with both of these two athletes.
Despite the hot streak Miami has been on, Brooklyn has not lost to the Heat by double digits this season. This Heat team is a beatable team for the Nets as evidenced in the previous two matchups. It is fair to say Brooklyn had a real chance at winning the first game when they blew an 18 point lead going into the fourth quarter.
While Brooklyn can beat this Heat team, they will have their hands full. Ending a long streak such as this will be a highlight to a low season for this Nets team. Brooklyn needs the win and Miami needs to lose finally.
