Brooklyn Nets @ Utah Jazz 3/16/19 Postgame Notes and Observations

Not many good things to take away from this matchup. The Jazz were good, the Nets were bad. Here’s how the game unfolded.

1st Quarter:

  • Caris LeVert back in the starting lineup for Allen Crabbe
  • Allen blocks a driving Favors!
  • Joe Harris nails the first bucket for Brooklyn
  • Quick change of pace from D’Lo leads to the layup
  • Follows it up with a three
  • Another block on Favors from Allen!
  • Kurucs hits his first three of the night
  • Smooth jumper from Russell as the Nets go on a 7-1 run
  • Rodi hits the the long two though will be reviewed to see if it’s a three
  • Utah go on a 7-0 run of their own
  • Nets down 28-21 after one

2nd Quarter:

  • Russell feeds Kurucs on the cut for a much needed bucket
  • Nets down by 17
  • Spinning bucket for Russell
  • Carroll follows up on his own miss for two
  • Dinwiddie hits the leaner
  • The patience from Spencer leads to the bucket in the paint
  • Nice reverse finish from Dinwiddie
  • Another strong finish from Spencer on the drive
  • Carroll hits the three
  • Brooklyn trail by 17 at the half

3rd Quarter:

  • Russell hits the three to kick off the second half
  • Harris finishes on the drive
  • A 6-0 run for Utah gives them a 20 point lead
  • LeVert hits his first basket of the night
  • Russell hits the three
  • Spencer hits the step back three
  • Follows it up with another
  • Trevor Grahams hits the three
  • Dinwiddie hits the corner three
  • The Nets forgot how to rebound
  • Nets down 64-83 heading into the final quarter

4th Quarter:

  • D’Lo hits a layup off a steal from LeVert
  • A positive sign to see LeVert finish the drive
  • Then a solid floater
  • Pinson hits his first bucket of the night
  • Hollis-Jefferson trims the margin to 14
  • Theo hits the perimeter trey
  • Smooth stuff from Williams and Pinson
  • Nets go down 98-114
