Brooklyn Nets @ Toronto Raptors 2/11/19 Postgame Notes and Observations

The Nets did almost everything right expect get the win. It was a nail-biter down the stretch with some massive plays from both sides. There were plenty of positives to take away from the performance despite the loss. Here’s how it went down.

1st Quarter:

  • Joey Buckets kicks off scoring with the three
  • Make that 2/2 from the perimeter for Harris
  • Joey is feelin’ it!
  • Kurucs goes bang from three off the feed from Russell
  • Pretty passing leading to the Allen bucket
  • Four threes for Harris!
  • The man is unconscious
  • Smooth jumper from LeVert from the free throw line
  • Lovely look away pass from Napier as he drops it off to Crabbe in transition
  • Napier’s defensive energy leads to another transition opportunity for LeVert
  • 7-0 run for Brooklyn gives them an 8 point lead
  • Ed Davis is so strong down low
  • Nets lead after one, 29-21

2nd Quarter:

  • Corner three for Crabbe
  • Great composure and balance from Rondae on the layup
  • Another trey for AC off the steal
  • Sleek pick and roll from Russell and Davis
  • Russell joins in with a three
  • Raptors have gone on a 7-0 run to tie the game up
  • Graham hits the three out the timeout
  • Back to back threes for Graham
  • What a feed from Harris to Allen for the dunk
  • Kurucs cuts for the slam
  • You can’t leave Joey open!
  • Dear lord Joe Harris, that’s seven threes!
  • Nets hold a 60-56 lead at the half

3rd Quarter:

  • Nifty floater by Russell to kick off scoring in the second half
  • Backs it up with the jumper
  • Great drive and finish from D’Lo
  • Allen finishes the layup through the contact on the feed from Russell
  • Superb strength and body control by Russell on the drive
  • He’s driving like a mad man
  • Heck of a ball fake and finish by Russell, again, on the drive
  • Toronto on a 7-0 run
  • The drive from Harris leaves Allen open for the slam
  • Allen slips to the rim for the uncontested dunk
  • Russell continues to drive at will
  • Nice two man game from Napier and Davis
  • Timely three from Crabbe
  • Shifty layup from Shabazz
  • Smooth fadeaway on the 2-for-1 play to end the quarter
  • All tied up at 92 to end the third

4th Quarter:

  • Toronto on a 8-0 run
  • Napier hits the bucket off the glass
  • Backs it up with a triple
  • Bank three for Crabbe
  • Caris nails the floater
  • Allen nails the corner three
  • Great block by Allen leading to the transition three for Crabbe on the other end
  • Another three for Crabbe ties it up at 120
  • Russell hits the cold blooded three
  • Nets go down 127-125
