The Brooklyn Nets are still looking to catch any sort of stride in 2017. Losers of 18 of their past 19 games and of seven straight, the Brooklyn Nets will look for salvage at home Friday night against a team they have beaten this season. The Indiana Pacers will come to Brooklyn looking to move to 3-1 on the season series while Brooklyn is looking to finally get that coveted tenth win of the season.
There is still no real word as to Jeremy Lin‘s status. Lin has been doing shooting drills as we all saw before the Knicks game on Wednesday. Then, today, Jeremy Lin was seen doing machine workouts on the far end of the gym. Maybe his return is sooner than we expected?
Regardless, Lin is not available for tonight’s game. Isaiah Whitehead had finally gotten his starting spot back when he dropped a 2-9 shooting night with only four points against the Knicks. There is still a good chance Coach Atkinson gives him another chance over Spencer Dinwiddie.
Whomever it may be at point guard for Brooklyn, they are going to need to be careful against Jeff Teague. Teague got off to a slow start with his new team in the Pacers, but has found his flow as of late. Brooklyn will always need to be conscious of his wherabouts on the floor as well as his ability to find the open man on the floor.
Then there is Thaddeus Young. Young was traded at the NBA Draft for the rights to Caris LeVert. Thad was a player that loved living in Brooklyn and loved playing for the Nets. A lot of fans were upset, but they understood that it needed to be done to get Caris. Young returns to Brooklyn for the second time since the trade and it will be fun watching him play for Brooklyn fans yet again.
As much of a train-wreck Brooklyn may be this season, they have been in almost every game that they have lost. If they can play good basketball for a full game, they can put this season series at two games a piece. As it always is with these Nets, nothing is easy or stress-free.
