Brooklyn Nets vs Detroit Pistons 3/11/19 Postgame Notes and Observations

The dominant win over Detroit was one of the most satisfying, complete performances by the team in a very long time. They put on a clinic on both ends of the floor. Hopefully they can take that confidence and momentum into the final, tough stretch of the season. Here’s how they secure the win.

1st Quarter:

  • A Rodions slam kicks off scoring for the Nets
  • Smooth stroke from two by Russell
  • Lovely back cut from Kurucs
  • The patented steal and slam from Rodi
  • Crabbe hits the three
  • Wonderful penetration and pass from Kurucs to Allen for the slam
  • Russell is such a great passer to moving players

  • DeMarre Carroll hits the three off the LeVert assist
  • Nets lead 27-19 to end the first

2nd Quarter:

  • Strong move by Carroll to the rim
  • Great putback off his own miss by Russell
  • LeVert finishes on the drive with the left hand
  • So much strength on the drive by Harris
  • Wow that was pretty ball movement
  • To quote D’Angelo Russell, “that boy Rodi nice.”
  • 7-0 run for the Nets gives them a 14 point lead
  • Kurucs is feeling it as he hits the three

  • Russell feeds Harris on the cut to the rim
  • Joe Harris drains the three following the timeout
  • Spencer Dinwiddie hits the tough three
  • LeVert goes full court for the layup
  • Davis follows up on his own miss
  • Scoop layup for Spencer
  • Nets up 88-62 to end the third

4th Quarter:

  • Pure push shot from Caris
  • Contested three from Crabbe
  • Allen gets the offensive board and the put back
  • Russell blocks the Kennard three point shot from behind
  • Nice alley oop from D’Lo to The ‘Fro
  • 7-0 run by Brooklyn gets the lead out to 28
  • Easy drive by LeVert to make it a 10-0 run
  • Pinson joins in on the fun with a three
  • Nets close it out for a 103-75 win
