Brooklyn Nets at Chicago Bulls 1/6/19 Postgame Notes and Observations

The Nets took care of business against the Bulls with a 117-100 victory away from home. Apart from a shoddy second quarter it was a pretty clinical performance from the team. Here’s how it panned out.

1st Quarter:

  • Joe Harris gives the Nets their first bucket 2 mins into the first quarter 
  • Dudley backs it up with the three 
  • Nice aggression around the rim from Russell 
  • Kurucs has made some good defensive plays early 
  • Emphatic block from Allen 
  • Sleek feed from Harris to Allen for the jam 
  • DeMarre with 5 quick points as he’s inserted with a few of the reserves 
  • Strong move to the rim from Carroll 
  • Smooth three from D’Lo
  • Sweet offensive scheme ending in the Napier triple
  • Nets end the quarter with a 28-21 lead

2nd Quarter:

  • Russell’s three point shooting has made him a much more dangerous offensive threat 
  • Davis finds the easy bucket as the Bulls double Carroll
  • Graham with the savvy swat
  • Bulls cut the lead to 3 
  • Awesome inside pass from Dinwiddie to Allen which leads to the and one opportunity 
  • Dinwiddie drives to the rim with purpose 
  • Kurucs splashes the three 
  • Chicago regain the lead
  • Kurucs gives it right back to the Nets 
  • Zach LaVine is destroying Brooklyn with 15 points in the quarter 
  • Spencer driving is automatic
  • All tied up at 55 to end the half 

3rd Quarter:

  • Dudley starts the quarter with an above the break three 
  • Amazing hands from Allen to catch the Dudley feed and finish with the dunk 
  • D’Lo finishes the layup high off the glass 
  • Another slam from Allen! 
  • Love Dinwiddie attacking every time he’s switched onto a big
  • Get that weak ‘ish outta here! 
  • D’Lo gives the Nets a 9-point buffer with the Russell three
  • ANOTHER ONE! 
  • Lovely reverse from DeMarre
  • Carroll punishes the lacklustre defense from Chicago 
  • Nets get back the lead to finish the third, 88-82

4th Quarter:

  • Davis finishes the perfect alley from D’Lo
  • The mid ranger from D’Lo gets it back to a 9-point lead 
  • DeMarre’s three gets it back to double digits 
  • Pretty step back from Shabazz 
  • Russell’s scoring has been on fire tonight, especially the three ball
  • Love the hustle from Graham 
  • The off balance mid range shot from D’Lo was seriously pretty 
  • Shabazz has been super solid tonight 
  • Dudley drives for the feathery floater
