Brookly Nets vs Indiana Pacers 12/21/18 Postgame Notes and Observations

1st Quarter:

  • Rodions kicks off scoring with a three off a feed from Russell
  • First LeBron, now his former college alumni, Myles Turner, is the victim of a Jarrett Allen block at the rim
  • Finds him again for the inside bucket
  • Wonderful finesse from Allen off the glass
  • A clear goal tend was missed from officials on Rodions attempt
  • Nets have been a little sloppy with the ball that’s lead to Indiana’s early 6 point lead
  • The rack attack from Allen!
  • Rodions with the hard block that leads to the transition bucket for RHJ
  • The second unit has been a little more engaged trimming the lead to single digits
  • The Russell three was valuable but doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things if the Nets can’t get stops on the defensive end
  • Dinwiddie gets the foul call which allows him to get to the line at the buzzer
  • Nets down 27-37 to end the first

2nd Quarter:

  • Much of the same early in the second, can’t get any stop the Pacers from scoring
  • Dudley’s three ball has been falling a lot more frequently the last few games
  • Carroll’s three cuts it single digits
  • Ed Davis back taps are a thing of beauty
  • Rodions and Russell can’t convert on the transition opportunities, Nets still only down 7
  • Nifty little layup from Joe Harris
  • Love the aggression from Rodions to still force the issue
  • Rondae does the same in the next possession and leads to two free throw attempts
  • Nice feed from Rondae to Rodions for the bucket
  • Nets with a 10 point margin to end the half, 49-59

3rd Quarter:

  • Rondae threes are fun
  • Backs it up with a great defensive play
  • Allen’s putback cuts the lead to just 4
  • Loved the energy from Kurucs in this quarter
  • Pretty contested two from Harris
  • Backs it up with a quick above the break three
  • Man, that’s a hard fall from Rondae
  • Dudley ties the game up with the three
  • Jared Dud-three
  • Dinwiddie gets to the line for the and one
  • Sensational pass from Spencer to DeMarre who snuck into the paint
  • Brooklyn cuts the margin to 4, heading into the final period

4th Quarter:

  • Smooth jumper from Carroll to open the quarter
  • Dinwiddie starting to get to the line a little more
  • Kurucs is making his presence felt
  • Good out of time out play from Coach Kenny that leads to the free throw opportunity for Allen
  • Nets tie it up thanks to a great steal and bucket from Dinwiddie
  • Clutch three from Dinwiddie
  • Easy open three for Harris helps the Nets regain the lead
  • Wonderful defensive play from Dudley as he deflects the ball free
  • Rodions is a stud
  • Missed free throws could cost the Nets this one
  • Dudley’s moving screen cost Brooklyn the lead
  • Atkinson is irate with the no call on Dinwiddie leading to his ejection
  • Pacers end up closing it out with some big plays from Oladipo as they get the win, 114-106
