The Nets stand at 1-1 after an impressive and hopeful victory over one the East’s better teams in the Indiana Pacers. The Bucks are 0-1 after losing to the Charlotte Hornets at home 107-96 Wednesday night.

Milwaukee is a team that has solid young talent and some former Nets as well. Their coach, as fans would know, is all-time great and Nets great Jason Kidd. Kidd has proven not to be the great coach Brooklyn thought he was after that first season with the team. The Bucks made the playoffs during Kidd’s first year coaching the team two seasons ago, but failed to do so again last season.

Mirza Teletovic spent a couple of season with the Nets before leaving in free agency. Brooklyn would be wise to remember his smooth shot and to make sure he is covered from distance all night long.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jabari Parker are both young guns that can perform to an extraordinarily high level in this league. Antetokounmpo scored 31 points with 9 rebounds and 5 assists in that Hornets loss, showing that he can score and rebound. Headaches are what Antetokounmpo does best to opposing teams (and announcers).

Brooklyn, though, has their own stud in Jeremy Lin whom barely missed a triple-double last night with 21 points 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Pair that with Brook Lopez whom had 25 points, and you got a big/little combination that could be deadly. It was great to see Brook-Lin get it together for the home fans Friday night as they even walked to the locker room to chants of “Brook-Lin, Brook-Lin.”

Brook Lopez is out tonight. There is no injury it is just Coach Atkinson wants to get him rest. It is interesting that Lopez needs rest the third game of the season though, especially with the low-minutes he has been playing. On the other hand, it is the second half of a back-to-back and there was travel involved so it makes sense?

With Lopez out, Brooklyn will need another big game from Sean Kilpatrick who scored 18 points in last nights victory or from somebody else whether it be Bogdanovic or Joe Harris or Justin Hamilton. Lin needs as much help as he could get tonight.

This match-up should be  a good one and Brooklyn, despite being under dogs, can easily win this game. Brooklyn can keep proving the haters wrong and proving Vegas wrong. It all starts here and now.

The Brooklyn Nets lost a heart breaker in Milwaukee tonight. Bojan Bogdanovic tied the game at 108 a piece with 11.6 seconds left to go. Some may say Brooklyn should have waited until the clock was closer to zero to shoot, but he was wide open. The Bucks took the ensuing possession down the floor. Jabari Parker missed his shot but John Henson was right there for the game-winning tip-in. The Bucks defeated the Nets 110-108 as a result.

Bojan Bogdanovic, though, had a stellar performance scoring 26 points on 9/15 shooting. Sean Kilpatrick also had another nice showing as he scored 14 points on 5/9 shooting.

With Brook Lopez out, Justin Hamilton got the start. Needless to say, he disappointed. Hamilton scored two three-point shots for a grand total of six points. On top of that, Hamilton only grabbed three rebounds. You need better production out of your starting big man.

Jeremy Lin had a pretty rough night, though oddly productive. Lin only scored 12 points on 4/16 shooting but dished out 10 assists and snagged three steals. The shot was not there for Lin

tonight, but he still managed to get a double-double and force some turnovers.

With an under-performing Lin and an absent Brook Lopez the Nets still managed to total 108 points on 44% shooting. This team can score with or without their stars playing well, or even at all. With Lopez playing and Lin’s shot working this team could beat just about any team in the league.

The Nets are at 1-2 and go back to Brooklyn to face Dwayne Wade and the Bulls Halloween night. The Bucks, meanwhile, travel to Detroit for a bout against the Pistons.
